GET LUCKY: GODS OF CHAOS MC (BOOK NINE) Page 4
A slow, crooked grin spread across his face as he lowered his head, his tongue darting out and sending me into a shivering mess of wobbly knees and random gasps.
I fell back on the couch, desperate for a supportive surface to lie back on. Opening my thighs, I welcomed him into my warmth, his mouth working against me like a man on a mission. It didn’t take long for him to achieve it, because within seconds I was writhing and flailing beneath him like a wild animal, my release washing over me like a passionate wave of ecstasy that I’d had no idea how much I needed. I panted for air, my heart pounding like a drum in my chest, my breasts heaving up and down as I came back to earth.
He raised himself up, his smoldering eyes peering right through me as he slipped inside of me, his smooth hardness gliding in like it belonged there. I rocked against him, his size overwhelmingly delicious as he made no move towards being gentle. He slammed into me, harder and harder with each spectacular thrust, until I was shuddering from his relentless assault. When he exploded inside of me, he froze, his entire body seizing with pleasure, his rippling muscles flexing with tension before he relaxed, his body collapsing on top of mine in a pool of sweat and satisfaction and the purest, sweetest satiation I’d ever experienced.
“Again,” I murmured in his ear. He was still buried inside, his cock throbbing hotly. “Again, please, Ziggy, do it again…”
He growled, propping himself up on his elbows and staring down at me, his eyes flashing with pure lust as he began moving his hips again, his cock hard and ready again in an instant.
CHAPTER 6
ZIGGY
We didn’t sleep. Not one wink.
And by the time the sun began streaming through her windows, I’d memorized every inch of her flesh.
I’d learned exactly how loud she moans when I rake my teeth across her nipples.
I’d discovered just how much pressure to use when I capture her clit between my lips to make her writhe uncontrollably.
I’d figured out that when I thrust my fingers deep inside of her while I sucked at that pretty little pearl, that it was just enough to push her over the edge and make her lose all her inhibitions, screaming and shaking and shuddering with ecstasy, until she begged me to stop.
Hours and hours later, we were reduced to a slick pile of sweaty limbs and blissed out smiles. She lay with her head on my shoulder, peaceful and relaxed.
“I needed this so badly,” she whispered.
“I’m happy I could give it to you,” I said.
“I have to be downstairs soon,” she said. “If not, Becky will knock my door down.”
“She seems very committed to you,” I remarked.
“Committed?” she scoffed. “Committed to her paychecks, maybe. She doesn’t truly care about me. I’m her job. If she doesn’t do it correctly, the record label will replace her in a second.”
“So, about this Nicholai, guy…”
“Yeah, I owe you details, right?”
“Right.”
She sighed and gave in, snuggling into my chest and delving into a story that broke my heart.
“It’s a long story, but I’ll try to make it short. I left home a month before my high school graduation. My Mom was losing it. More so than usual. She was mentally-ill, extremely violent. I had to leave to stay alive, basically.”
“That’s horrible,” I said.
“Yeah. The worst part was that I had to leave behind the boy that I loved, Eddie. But he promised he’d join me, just as soon as graduation was over. We were hoping I could hold on and we could leave town together but I couldn’t wait.”
She grew quiet, but I didn’t press her, patiently stroking her hair, giving her as much time as she needed.
“I made it to Los Angeles on the Greyhound. I didn’t have much. After I arrived, I was terrified to venture out into the city, so I camped out at the bus station hoping my courage would kick in. Instead, I met Nicholai.”
“How long ago was this?”
“Ten years ago,” she nodded. “At first, Nicholai was great. He befriended me, gave me a place to crash, fed me, listened to me go on and on about my Mom and how all I needed to do was make it through the month, and then Eddie would be there and then everything would fall into place. The plan was that we’d get jobs and get a place together, if I’d not already secured a place by the time he arrived. Nicholai was a good friend. He never made a move on me. He just listened, and helped me out when I needed it. He encouraged me. If it wasn’t for him, I don’t know what would have happened to me that first month, or where I’d have ended up. I certainly wouldn’t be who I am now.”
She paused again, her breath becoming shallow.
“Eddie never showed up. I’d talked to him on the phone every day. Our plan was in place. He’d already bought his ticket. It was just a matter of time. But then, on his way home from work one late night, just a few days before he was supposed to leave, he was mugged. It didn’t make any sense, nobody ever got mugged in our tiny town. But they stole his wallet, and he must have fought back, because he was hit hard in the head and he died.”
“Fuck, that’s horrible!” I said, holding her tight. She was shaking now, her voice quivering.
“I found out when I called him and his mom answered. She told me what happened and I just fell to the floor sobbing. It was so unfair, I thought. Nicholai had gone out of town for the weekend, so I was all alone and it was the worst weekend of my life.”
“Damn, babe…”
“Nicholai came home and he took care of me. Eventually, we became involved and then he convinced me that he should be my manager and that he was going to make me a star. He did. Every thing he set out to do worked. Last year, he asked me to marry him. I’ve never really gotten over Eddie’s death, but the pain has faded a little over the years. I was so busy with my career, it was impossible to have another relationship, even though I’d tried with a few other guys, and Nicholai was always there, so it just seemed natural that we would be together. I ignored the warning signs, the controlling behavior, the incessant nagging that I was never good enough. I convinced myself that I loved him enough. I agreed to marry him.”
“And then you left him standing at the alter.”
“Right. I know this is a long story, but it’s almost over.”
“I’ve got all day,” I said.
“I don’t,” she said. “Becky’s gonna be pounding on that door any moment.”
“Finish,” I said. “Why’d you decide to leave him?”
“We were building a house together. A sprawling beauty in the Colorado Rockies. A place we could disappear together. We’d lived in Hollywood for so long, I wanted a change, I wanted out of all the hustle and bustle, even if we spent most of our time in the tour bus. I wanted a place to escape to, you know?”
“Sure, makes sense to me.”
“Right. So, the night before the wedding I was still packing up our place in Hollywood, because the movers were going to be moving us while we were honeymooning. I was packing up Nicholai’s clothes and I — I —.” She burst out crying, her sobs wrecking my heart.
“Shh,” I said, kissing her head. “It’s okay.”
“— I found Eddie’s wallet.”
“What? Oh…,” I drawled, the truth slowly dawning on me. “No way.”
“Yeah,” I said. “For years, I’d been sleeping with the man who killed Eddie. I’d agreed to marry a murderer.”
“That’s so incredibly fucked up. What did you do?”
She shrugged. “I left town. Alone. I didn’t tell anyone where I was going, not a soul. I went to New York, just to get as far away as I could. And then, I called the cops. I told them everything. I showed them the wallet. But they insisted it didn’t prove anything. Eddie’s case had been closed years ago, they’d pinned his murder on a transient passing through town and given him twenty-five years to life for it. They weren’t interested in reopening the case. By then, I was famous. Nicholai was famous, too. They didn’t really want to tou
ch Eddie’s case, but because I insisted and threatened to call the media, they advised me they would question him.”
“Fucking cops,” I muttered, anger boiling in me at this point.
“Of course, by that time, I’d stood Nicholai up at the alter and he knew something was up. He disappeared into thin air and the cops have never been able to locate him, so they haven’t even questioned him at all. I doubt they ever will. They certainly aren’t making this a priority.”
“Damn, Lucky, that is one fucked up story,” I said.
“I know. And so not sexy. Which is why I didn’t want to go into it last night.”
“I understand,” I said, holding her close.
“But what about you?” she asked.
“What about me?”
“What’s your story?”
I burst out laughing, shaking my head.
“Woman, you just told me the saddest shit ever. I am not about to go into my history right now. Besides, you don’t have time for that. But I have one last question.”
“What’s that?”
“Why’d you fire your security team if this psycho is still out there bringing you roses?”
“Because they sucked. He kept getting past them. To be fair, it wasn’t their fault. Like I said, he’s a master at disguise and deception, he could fool anyone.”
I nodded, taking it all in.
“So, you have another team lined up?”
“Nope,” she said. “I’ve been given a list of potential companies, but they’re all the same. Nobody really cares. All they want is a paycheck.”
I nodded, again, knowing she was probably right.
“I have an idea,” I said, my heart racing at the thought. I wanted to do whatever I could to make Lucky’s life easier. If she needed protection, she’d certainly come to the right place.
“Let me guess. You want to be my bodyguard?”
“Something like that. Me, and sixteen of my very large, very strong, very skilled friends.”
CHAPTER 7
NICHOLAI
She had no idea I could hear every word she said.
Every time she uttered my name, it turned me on.
I hated the fact that she’d found out I’d killed Eddie. I’d managed to keep that secret for ten years while I molded her into the woman I always wanted her to be. It wasn’t easy, either. She was an eighteen year-old, know-it-all brat who didn’t believe in herself at all until I built her up, until I showed her the potential she possessed.
And what thanks did I get?
Stood up at the fucking alter in front of all of Hollywood?
It was downright humiliating. Of course I’d have to make her pay for it. I couldn’t just let her get away with treating me that way, could I? Of course not.
So, I keep tabs on her.
She doesn’t need to know.
Long before the wedding, I’d inserted cameras in places she never would have imagined. Like right now, the little device that I’d sewn into the outer pocket of her favorite purse was giving me a perfect view of what I really didn’t want to see.
She fucked that guy.
More than once, in fact.
Like a goddamned hussy.
I was ashamed for her, to be honest. She was better than that. Picking up some filthy biker in a random bar like that? It was beneath her.
I’ve tried for years to show her how good she can be. All she had to do was marry me and we’d have been the ultimate power couple.
But no.
It didn’t work that way. She found out I killed Eddie. I should have gotten rid of that fucking wallet, but I kept it. I don’t even know why. Just to remind myself of just how much I’d sacrificed for her, maybe.
And now what does she do? Does she see all I’ve done? Does she thank me? Nope. She left me, humiliated me, and more than all of that — she’s angered me.
She doesn’t know what she’s in for.
I’m just playing with her now, but now that she’s decided slutting it up and going slumming like a sleazy whore is going to make her feel better, I’m going to have to take drastic action to make sure she gets in line.
Look, maybe I shouldn’t have killed Eddie, but in the end, even that proved to be in her favor. Do you think she’d be who she is if she’d had some clingy boyfriend following her around like a puppy dog all these years?
No fucking way.
She’s a sex symbol, for fuck’s sake.
And you know what else she is? After all this time? After all this fucking energy I’ve put into her over the years?
She’s fucking mine.
And that greasy tattooed biker may be fucking her, but that doesn’t change a thing.
Her career is mine.
Her fucking money is mine.
Her flesh is mine.
And if and when I see fit to take her out of this world, well that’ll be my decision to make and nobody else’s, too.
If the pretty boy in the leather vest thinks he’s going to keep me from what’s rightfully mine, well, he better think again.
I’ve killed before.
I’ll go to whatever extreme is necessary to claim what’s mine.
There’s nothing I won’t do.
Will pretty boy take a bullet for her? A woman he just met?
I highly doubt it.
Nobody is as committed to Lucky as me.
I’ll show them all just how serious I am about keeping her.
CHAPTER 8
LUCKY
They’re all going to lose their minds, I thought, as I hung up the phone with Ryder, the President of the Gods of Chaos Motorcycle Club and Ziggy’s boss.
Ziggy filled me in completely and I couldn’t have been more impressed.
He told me all about Grace and Ryder, and the organization they’d started called Solid Ground, an underground railroad to help people who needed to employ unconventional avenues and methods of getting to a safe place.
My situation didn’t exactly fall under the umbrella of what they usually did, but Ryder explained that since the nature of their business was untraditional, so too were the jobs they were asked to take on.
He almost said no; I could hear it in his voice.
But I went on and on about how the very thing I needed was ‘unconventional’. Once Ziggy told me about the jobs that he and the Gods were used to, I knew it was a perfect fit. I mean, sure it was Ziggy’s idea at first, but I quickly hopped on board. Every security team I’d hired to keep me safe from Nicholai had failed me.
What else did I have to lose?
Why not try something new?
Ryder finally agreed and we hashed out the arrangements quickly after I assured him I would handle all the expenses necessary.
Seventeen leather clad bikers would soon be joining me on tour, including Ziggy, who I already couldn’t get enough of.
I couldn’t wait to meet them all. In the meantime, I needed to deal with the management and instruct Becky to get all the airline reservations made.
I was late getting to the signing, and the look on Becky’s face told me she’d been the one to take the heat for it.
“Sorry, Becky,” I said. “I had some business to attend to.”
“Right,” she nodded. I knew she thought the ‘business’ I was attending to was Ziggy, and she was partially right. It took all my strength to peel my limbs from him and start my day. “Everyone’s waiting for you. They’ve been waiting.”
“Listen, before I go in, I need you to take care of some things for me.”
“Sure,” she nodded, pen in hand, ready to take notes, as always. Becky’s a good girl. She’s loyal and efficient, I really couldn’t ask for more. I just wish she wasn’t so uptight and buttoned-up all the time.
“I’ve hired a new security team.”
“Oh, thank God!” she sighed. “Which one did you decide to go with? I can get the contracts out today.”
“None of the ones you listed,” I said. “In fact, they aren’t really an
official security team. But I think it’ll finally be a group of guys who can take care of business.”
“I don’t understand,” she said, blinking at me. “We need a fully-licensed and bonded security company. The insurance company won’t cover —.”
“— I’m paying for it all myself. Just relax. I’m not budging.”
She took a deep breath and nodded.
“Okay, what are their names?”
“There’s seventeen guys. I only know the names of two so far. Ziggy and Ryder.”
“Ziggy? The guy you were with last night? The biker?” Her eyes were as wide as saucers.
“Yep,” I said. “They’re the Gods of Chaos Motorcycle Club.”
“Lucky!” she cried. “You can’t do this! This is ridiculous!”
“It’s done,” I said, ignoring her outrage. “All I need you to do is get them on a plane. If they fly in tonight, they’ll be here in time for us to get on the road early tomorrow morning and can travel with us to Los Angeles.”
“Lucky…”
“I said, it’s done, Becky!” I repeated. “Also, they’re going to need their own tour bus, so rent another one.”
“The record label will never allow this!”
“Sure, they will.”
“Well, what do you want me to say to them when they say no?”
“Tell them I quit,” I shrugged.
“Quit?” Her eyes were so big now I thought they might pop right out of their sockets.
“If they so no, I quit. Simple as that. If they want the tour to continue, they’ll give me this. I won’t negotiate.”
“But Lucky —.”
“—but nothing! Go!” I said, turning and walking away, leaving her standing there dumbfounded with her jaw on the ground.
CHAPTER 9
ZIGGY
The hotel lobby was packed, but that didn’t keep me from instantly spotting the large group of hulking Gods’ headed my way. Their size alone was enough to make them stand out, but our cuts are what really made heads turn, as they greeted me with hard pats on the back and a bunch of bro-hugs.
